Nucleic Acid Lateral-Flow (NALF)

NALF is an abbreviation for "Nucleic Acid Lateral-Flow", which describes technologies detecting molecular amplification products on a lateral-flow strip.

AMODIA offers several variations of lateral-flow strips, which differ in the number of amplification products detectable in parallel.

The AMODIA DetectLine Basic has a line for the assay control and one test line for the molecular amplification product.

The AMODIA®-LFD is able to detect two molecular amplification products in parallel on a single strip. This allows the detection of one target sequence and an additional control ("internal control") for the amplification reaction.

The AMODIA MultiFlow® is able to detect four molecular amplification products and an internal control in parallel on a single strip.

The method used by AMODIA has the following specifications:

  • the amplification product is labeled during amplification
  • to this labeled amplification product a labeled probe is hybridised (sequence verification !)
  • one label binds to the particles on the lateral-flow strip
  • the other label binds to capture molecules immobilized on the membrane of the LFD
  • all target molecules are amplified in parallel with an internal control, which binds according to the same principle on a separate line
  • the proper functioning is displayed by an additional line (assay control)
